Guests enter the enhanced resort lobby through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors (also by Western Window Systems) that span eight panels wide. All the new glass provides beautiful views while standing up to Hawaii’s tropical elements. With panels up to 12 feet tall, Western Window Systems’ Series 600 Multi-Slide Doors give guests eyefuls of the island. Features include expansive openings, narrow 2.55-inch sightlines, multiple sill height options, and premium hardware and roller options. Lying at a latitude of 18-22° N, the Hawaiian Islands see a daily UV average of 12.7 in the summer, according to The Weather Network. To help combat the solar intensity, the upgraded Western Window Systems multi-slide doors at Koloa Landing Resort & Villas feature dual-pane, triple-coated low-E glass, and thermally broken aluminum frames, which block a substantial amount of heat transfer. The Series 600 Multi-Slide Doors’ water-barrier sills, featuring a 1.5” interior leg and weep system, help keep out water, which is imperative since Kauai’s also one of the rainiest places on Earth: It set a new national record for rainfall in April of 2018 when 49.69 inches poured over the island within a 24-hour period. Since the renovations, the floor-to-ceiling glass doors have become one of the most-praised features of the resort in user reviews on travel websites.
