Western Architectural Openings Launches Series 8600 Multi-Slide Door

PHOENIX, AZ. – Western Architectural Openings recently announced the launch of its new Series 8600 Multi-Slide Door, concurrent with its recent rebrand event.  The latest addition to the brand’s Vantage Collection, the Series 8600 combines industry-leading U-factors, exceptionally narrow sightlines, and expansive panel sizes to create a moving glass wall that delivers high performance within a modern aesthetic. Designed to meet evolving energy and performance demands while preserving scale and design intent, the Series 8600 supports a wide range of architectural applications.

“We are excited to deliver a refined, minimalist design combined with outstanding performance with the Series 8600,” said Kevin Vilhauer, Vice President of Product Engineering at MITER Brands.  “The refined sightlines, innovative glazing channel, and seamless water management system provide architects and designers the freedom to realize their vision without compromise.  Homeowners will enjoy expansive openings and stunning views paired with the quality and craftsmanship they’ve come to expect from Western.”

The Series 8600 accommodates panels up to 12 feet tall or 60 square feet, while its clean lines, narrow profiles, and 2 1/8-inch interlock stiles maximize visible glass area, creating a refined, minimalist aesthetic. A range of frame options, including 1-inch and 1 3/8-inch stucco returns and no-fin configurations, provides flexibility across many installation conditions.

The Series 8600 launches with an innovative concealed multipoint locking system that provides enhanced security without disrupting sightlines, in line with the product’s seamless architectural aesthetic.

Ideal for a variety of climates, the Series 8600 delivers outstanding thermal performance with U-factors starting at .30, or as low as .28 with low-E i89 glass. Multiple dual-pane Low-E argon-filled glass options allow architects and builders to meet energy requirements. The system is performance-rated to PG25, offering durability and long-term reliability.

The Series 8600 is available in a wide selection of popular finishes to match nearly any home aesthetic, including in-stock anodized and ten designer colors. Each painted finish is meticulously applied to meet or exceed AAMA 2605 standards, the highest rating for organic finishes. Custom color matching is also available.
