This is the invitation for boundless creativity that Joe Carline of Kligerman AD found himself with when approached to craft the Living by Design Showhouse. With Western as his partner in bringing the architecture to life, top-of-the-line doors and windows of his choosing would complete a timeless, transitional concept that celebrates the art of architecture.
Now in its third year and with LUXE Interiors + Design as its National Media Sponsor for the first time, the Living by Design Showhouse by experiential marketing studio Embello is a dreamscape of luxury living. Visualized in 3D by YouSee, it showcases the power of design’s ultimate collaboration: lauded creatives teaming up with the brands that homeowners revere.
“This home doesn’t merely replicate the past,” Carline shares. “It distills the DNA of Southern vernacular and Shingle-style architecture into a composition that feels both rooted in history and strikingly contemporary.” Defined by a sculptural approach to massing, the home unfolds through a series of layered, horizontal planes.
One of Carline’s favorite aspects lies in the proportion and editing. “By stripping away unnecessary trim and focusing on the meeting of the gray shingle roof against the white brick, we achieved a sense of quiet grandeur.” Alongside this, though, lies a crispness that is undeniably modern, and that was defined in large part by a series of selections from Western.
In Bobby Berk’s kitchen design, a Pass-Through Awning Window creates indoor-outdoor functionality any entertainer is sure to love. Rasheeda Gray’s office concept is complete with a balcony fit to welcome repose in nature, made possible by an elegant pair of Hinged Doors.
